How many gauges belong on a night-shift wall

Night crews brief standing up. If a panel needs a mouse hover to explain itself, it is a desktop chart, not a wall gauge.

We usually start with seven panels and cut to five after the first live week. Primary health, active incidents, the two noisiest regions or services, and one headroom trend cover most estates we meet in Penang and the Klang Valley.

Colour should mean the same thing on every tile. Mixing “red means saturated” on one chart with “red means error budget burn” on another is how briefings turn into arguments.

Bring quiet-hour and peak-hour extracts to the first workshop. Without both, the wall will be sized for a day that never happens.
